The pick
TAKE: DeQuincy 31, Pickering 21 — The records are even, both 1-6 and 0-2 in district (American Press, 10/17), but DeQuincy has played the tougher schedule and grades out better in our ratings, and the LHSAA power rankings have DeQuincy No. 32 and Pickering No. 37. Against the district’s top teams, DeQuincy lost 42-3 to Vinton, while Pickering lost 52-8 to East Beauregard and 54-0 to Rosepine (MaxPreps). Pickering has home field, but we like DeQuincy.
T-Rohn says: Both towns are small enough that the final score will be known by the whole community before the buses even leave the parking lot.
